Weed control in melon with preemergence herbicides

چکیده
Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the effectiveness and selectivity herbicides applied at preemergence melon (Cucumis melo) crop. experiments were carried out from 2017 2018, in a randomized complete block design, with four replicates, state Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. treatments consisted application of: 35 g ha-1 a.i. flumioxazin, 25 250 sulfentrazone, 480 metribuzin, 240 oxyfluorfen, oxyfluorfen + 960 S-metolachlor, 360 clomazone, clomazone oxyfluorfen; metribuzin did not show substituted by ametryn 1,600 diuron. Fruit yield quality, as well weed control dry mass, evaluated. ametryn, diuron caused plant death. best efficiency obtained mixture followed clomazone. considered selective. Clomazone only selective herbicide two years evaluation can be an alternative for crops.

متن کاملMicrobial Weed Control and Microbial Herbicides
Microbial weed control represents an innovative means to manage troublesome weeds and utilize the naturally occurring biological herbicides produced by soil microorganisms. These compounds kill or hinder the growth of weeds so that beneficial plant species can gain a competitive advantage. The vast diversity of microorganisms in our environment is largely untapped, and the potential discovery a...
متن کاملSynergy between Synthetic and Microbial Herbicides for Weed Control
Synthetic herbicides have been investigated as tools to synergize mycoherbicides (fungal bioherbicides) for improved efficacy or management of hard-to-control weed problems. Herbicides may weaken weeds and impair their defence systems, thus making weeds more vulnerable to mycoherbicide infection. Despite many positive results, the practical value of synergy remains elusive. This review will dis...
متن کاملChapter 35 The Use of Corn Gluten Meal As A Natural Preemergence Weed Control in Turf
In a study involving the use of food-grade corn meal as a growth media for microorganisms, it was observed that stand establishment of creeping bentgrass seedlings was reduced by the incorporation of corn meal into the soil. Studies on the effect of adding corn starch, corn gluten meal, corn germ, corn seed fiber, or corn meal to the soil surface before seeding creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palu...
